The most exhausting fun you’ll have all summer!
Do I have to attend band camp?
We need everyone at band camp to practice, practice, practice. We want to have a great halftime show and band camp is the start to a great season.
You will have fun!
When is band camp?
New for 2021 we will be having a mini camp in the spring followed by our usual week of summer band camp
Spring Mini-Band Camp
Friday, May 21 6pm – 8:30pm
Saturday, May 22 9am – 2pm
Summer Band Camp
Thursday, July 22nd @7pm – Registration for returning band members
Friday, July 23rd @7pm – Registration for new band members
Saturday, July 24th 9am – 1pm HOPOEWAW Day (For new band members and some leadership)
Monday – Friday, Jul 26th – July 30th 9am – 9pm: Band Camp
What should I wear/bring?
- Shorts recommended, within dress code. Long jeans will be too hot. Long pants in a thinner material will be fine.
- Light-colored T-shirt that covers your shoulders. Dark colors absorb heat. Tank tops do not protect your shoulders and the back of your neck, which are typical danger spots for skin cancer.
- Closed toe sneakers (no sandals or flip-flops)
- A hat
- Ear plugs for percussion
- Put sunscreen on before you arrive and bring extra sunscreen
- A large water jug or camelback for hydration
- A snack
- For Saturday Spring mini-camp & summer dates bring a bag lunch
- Your instrument
How should I prep for band camp?
Get a goodnight sleep the night before.
Eat a healthy meal before you show up.
You will be outside a lot and exercising a lot, it’s no fun for anyone if you pass out because you are tired or hungry.
I’m a parent what do I need to do to help my student?
Fill out paperwork and volunteer.
If your student did not complete the online band registration (link posted on website/band directors sent link out to students via Skyward at the end of last school year), please have them do so prior to your registration night. (Please check with your student to make sure they didn’t already submit this form before you fill it out for them)
Students must bring their own lunch and a large water jug to band camp with them every day. They can also bring a packed meal for dinner with them each day, or they can purchase a meal from the following selections provided by the BPA each day. (Please note: you will need to pay for the band camp meals at registration night)
If you’d like to volunteer with the band this year, register to be a Dividend. You must be a registered dividend and 21 years or older to volunteer with the band. Once you receive your dividend approval, forward that email to firstname.lastname@example.org (Please be advised, you need to renew your dividend registration every year.)
